The Club

At Clermont, everyone is welcome

We are a grassroots country club run on volunteer goodwill and local pride. The doors are wide open every day, whether you are a seasoned member or pulling in off the highway for your first round.

Dozens of volunteers keep this place humming, from coring the greens to mending the pipes and standing behind the bar. There is always something going on, and a passing of the torch as younger players work shoulder to shoulder with members who have been here for decades.

In just two seasons our membership grew from 70 to 110, and we are proud that golf here is open to all. No separate competitions, no closed doors, just good people sharing a great game in the heart of Central Queensland.

  • Genuinely Welcoming

Members and the public play side by side. Roll up, grab a club and feel at home.

  • Volunteer Powered

Almost everything here is done by volunteers who love this club and this town.

  • Growing Strong

Membership climbed more than fifty per cent in two seasons and keeps on rising.

Our Story

A century in the making

Founded in 1926, Clermont Golf Club has been part of the fabric of one of inland northern Australia's oldest towns for the better part of a century.

1926

The first drive

Golf takes root in Clermont as locals carve a course out of the Central Queensland landscape, in one of inland northern Australia’s oldest towns.

1931

The associates take the floor

Our women golfers, the Clermont Golf Associates, are in full swing, presenting their season trophies at a club dance.

1934

Champions on the course

Members contest the full club championship over 18 holes. T. Jones takes the monthly medal with a net 59, the best gross a tidy 73.

Through the decades

A country club endures

Generation after generation, the club is kept going by volunteers and the goodwill of the district, on a fully irrigated nine hole course.

2023

The Pro-Am returns

After a 25 year hiatus our annual Pro-Am roars back to life on the Queensland country circuit, with touring professionals on our fairways.

2024

A thriving comeback

Membership climbs from 70 to 110 in two seasons. The pokies make way for a pool table, and the clubhouse hums once more.

2026

One hundred years

We celebrate our centenary, a monstrous milestone for a proud country club and the town that built it.

On the Calendar

More than a game

From charity days that give back to the town, to a professional field on our fairways, there is always a reason to be at the club.

Community

Annual Community Day

Our biggest day of the year. A four ball Ambrose with music, fun and more than fifty thousand dollars raised for local not for profit groups.

Professional

Clermont Pro-Am

Resumed in 2023 after 25 years, our Pro-Am brings touring professionals to play alongside our members on the Queensland country circuit.

Social

Social Golf & the Clubhouse

A friendly clubhouse, a cold bar and a new pool table. Stay on for a yarn long after the final putt drops.
